I've have been talking about this Vegas trip for a while now haven't I? You're probably wondering why the heck am I still blogging. Let's just say it's the little girl in me who likes to talk incesstantly about exciting things weeks before they actually happen. But hey, I'm leaving tomorrow {and I promise to refrain from asking the pilot repeatedly "are we there yet?"}. While I'm in Sin City I'll be taking a little break from the 30x30 but I'm hoping {cross your fingers} to snap a few outfit shots while I'm there. If nothing else I will get plenty photos of Britney Spears' costume changes. Yeah, did I mention that? Saturday night I'll be hanging out with Brit Brit @ the MGM. Expect lots of instagram photos, okay?

My decision to to wear a sweater and pants on the first day of summer probably wasn't by best idea. But hey, at least I wore a bright summery color, right? Actually, I started packing for my trip Vegas and I suppose packing all of my fun summery clothes paved the way to wearing this outfit. Nothing against this sweater or pants, it's my fault pairing you two together on one of the muggiest days of the year. If you're not from here, Ohio may not register on your radar {cause we all have weather radar, right?} as a humidity magnet. We're not Texas or Louisiana, but humidity loves to hover over the Ohio River Valley for a good 3 three months. I suppose that means I only have another 100 or so days of sweat dripping, hair frizzing, sun burning weather. But who's counting?

Tight Rope Walker

It’s a good day when the park is completely deserted. I can get in and out with outfit photos in no time. Other days, it’s like walking a tight rope. I walk around. Pretend I’m taking landscape shots. Pretty much I try to avoid being caught at all costs. Being a park, I suppose there are the usual sounds you hear. Trees blowing in the wind. Teeny tiny lizards scurrying around the sidewalk. Park workers on riding lawn movers. But on this particular day I heard something else as I was snapping photos. Apparently it startled me and I thought I was caught. Turns out it was just a figment of my imagination. But it did result in this lovely photo.

Have I mentioned I'm the youngest person in my office? On my floor? After almost three years I think it's started to stick that I am not the college intern. One lady on our floor {I say lady cause most people are closer to my parents age than my own} commented that I have the cutest outfits this summer. Usually, I am a little weary of the clothing compliments from co-workers {remember the Easter Egg comment?} but seeing as there were no comparisons to chocolate covered candy or furry bunnies I just smiled and said thanks. Although I wouldn't mind some chocolate right about now.

Some days my inner corporate chic just isn't happening and I'd give just about anything to wear sweats to work. But I'm fairly certain my boss would keel over if he caught us wearing anything from Hanes {silly dress code} so I opted for the next best thing. These pants are basically dress pant leggings and we all know leggings are the closest option to sweat pants. Add a soft tissue tee {seriously the best shirt ever}, a fun scarf, stacks of bracelets, some fun shoes and VOILA. It's kinda like I jedi-mind tricked my corporate dress code. Feel to try at your own risk.

The last time I wore this dress I went for black and animal print so today I thought I'd do the opposite. What's the opposite you ask? Well pink and florals naturally. It's hard not to have a good day wearing such a light and breezy dress. Even my hair and the fact that this dress wrinkles like nobody's business couldn't ruin my day. Speaking of days - they're starting to run together a bit. I've got the 30x30 going on, an upcoming Vegas Vacation next week and my dreaded grad school application to finish up.

Less High Maintenance

Today's hairstyle is called "Liz is still tired and overslept AGAIN but then remembered she's a style blogger and should probably shower/wash her hair". Basically I jumped in the shower, let my hair air dry while I rushed to get ready, fixed my bangs and ran out the door. If you know me at all, you know this is a HUGE accomplishment. My hair is my thing. It's high maintenance and takes work and it can ruin my day if it's having a bad day. So for me to wash and go-ish {remember I said I had to do my bangs} is kinda a big deal.

In order to compensate for my less than coiffed hair, I opted to throw on some gold accessories. Also, I'm wearing pants. I only say this because it was brought to my attention {aka I was scrolling through the last few posts} that I've worn a skirt for like the last 11 days straight. Okay, maybe not the past 11 days, but something like that. So yeah I'm wearing pants and my hair is wet go me.

Lots of potential blog topics with today's outfit.
- Discussion re: my new and potential favorite skirt
- Rambling about how this is actually day 3/30 instead of 2/30 which could likely cause some confusion
- Transition to today's hair style which is a combination of a new curling iron and lots of dry shampoo {read my hair needs to washed}
- OR the embarrassing fact that my feet are a shade {or two} lighter than my legs

But I'm going to forgo all of those uber interesting points and go in a different direction. Now that I've rattled off a few under developed thoughts I'm going direct you over to Everybody Everywear where today it's all about the lace. Go forth and be inspired.

Today is day 1 of the Summer 30 for 30 Challenge. I hope you don't mind, but I've opted out of posting my 30 items and just went straight to the remixing. What I mean by opting out, is that I'm lazy and didn't get around to it. I promise I have 30 items selected, in fact if you're curious I can you send you the excel spreadsheet I created listing everything out in precise detail. What I can share with you is that it includes a lot of tops and skirts. Shocking, I know right? It's practically all I've been wearing lately.

This is also the outfit that sparked a debate between my parents. If you follow me on twitter you know that I love to tweet about the random stuff my mom {aka Bren} says. Well it shouldn't have surprised me that one day the random stuff could be about my outfit. It doesn't match would be the phrase she literally yelled at me when I came over for dinner. But no worries, my dad chimed in and had this response. It doesn't have to match to go together. Looks like someone's been secretly watching Stacy & Clinton. Thanks Dad.

As a thrifting novice, I seriously lucked out finding this Anthropologie skirt with the tags still attached. I practically ran to the register to check out {and I may have even tipped the cashier}. But this was almost two months ago and haven't worn it until today. This skirt has posed a bit of style dilemma for me. I think it's the color that throws me off a bit {I've dubbed it periwinkle}. Sure navy and white would look good with this - but what else?

I ended up going with my first thought - a navy tee. Then I remembered these earrings! They are in transit to a friend of mine {I'm the courier between friends} so I borrowed them but ssshhh don't tell.
